Monosof monofilament nylon sutures are inert, nonabsorbable sterile surgical sutures composed of the long-chain aliphatic polymers nylon 6 and nylon 6.6. 3 dz/bx (continental us only). The advanced extrusion process of the nylon molecule gives the suture: Uniform diameter; maximum flexibility of the strand; excellent security with snug and flattened knots; minimal memory excellent and consistent knotting strength. Monosof monofilament nylon sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurological surgery.
