Safe-T-Centesis kits provide a simplified format while maintaining important safety components to meet a variety of needs. The BD safe-t-centesis 6 fr catheter drainage kit is designed to lessen the risks involved in percutaneous needle placements and improve procedural flexibility. The safe-t centesis device can be used for both thoracentesis and paracentesis procedures using wall suction or vacuum bottles and manual drainage. The device itself is built with a self-sealing valve to avoid any leakage, as well as a remote stopcock to facilitate drainage connection and minimize any unnecessary catheter movement. The echogenic needle is built with the veress technology dual-lumen blunt obturator that protects patients from perforations and any needlestick injury. The pigtail design of the catheter has four strategically placed ports to prevent occlusion.
