Allows exudate to pass freely to an absorptive dressing or bandage layer, thereby preventing exudate pooling and the possibility of maceration. Assists in preventing wound trauma during removal. The contact layer protects the wound from absorbent pad materials, while the natural viscose rayon monofilament produces no lint or breakdown residues to complicate wound cleansing.
