This catheter has 2 connectors at the urethra end- one connector works as a drainage port and helps in draining urine, this connector end is always attached to a leg bag or drainage bag. The other connector is only a balloon inflation valve that is used to inflate the retention balloon so that the catheter does not fall out of the bladder. The other end of the catheter goes inside the bladder and has 2 opposing drainage eyes and a 3 ml retention balloon. Once inflated, retention balloon prevents the catheter from falling out of the bladder.
