Interdental Floss

Interdental floss is used to remove built-up plaque and food debris from between teeth. These interproximal areas are susceptible to decay if not properly cleaned. Toothbrush bristles cannot reach these spaces. Interdental floss can also be part of overall hygiene to prevent halitosis, periodontal disease, and bone loss. It should be used at least once a day. There are many types of interdental floss. The tightness of the interproximal contact areas will determine which type of interdental floss is suitable for each person.

Johnson & Johnson and Proctor & Gamble are two of the largest interdental floss suppliers. Sunstar Americas is another popular manufacturer.
