Curing Light

dental curing light

Curing lights are used to polymerize adhesive materials in the mouth. Most adhesive materials such as composite resins contain photoinitiators that require absorption of light energy to initiate the polymerization (hardening) process of the material. Depending on the device, curing time may vary from 5 seconds to 40 seconds, while the light wavelengths can range from 350 to 500 nm.

Major manufacturers of curing list systems include Beyes Dental, Dentamerica, Johnson-Promident, Kerr, Pac-Dent, Ritter, Safari, Southland Distribution & Sales, and TPC.
